Division (Poem)

Once a unified nation,
Your neighbour was your friend,
Good deeds and good intentions,
None of you had to pretend,

But now you are divided,
Politicians have split you apart,
They made you turn on each other,
But that was just the start,

Either way you are misled,
Their wealth has bought your ears,
The common man never reaches office,
Despite blood, sweat and tears,

The hardworking have been forgotten,
The true have been left out,
Their pockets weren't deep enough,
That's what it's always been about,

You are not being represented,
The candidates aren't speaking your voice,
But now that you think about it,
Did you even have a choice?

People with far too much,
Are deciding your very fate,
And now you've given your vote,
You have opened the gate,

And as they stroll on through,
They'll close it shut before you,
They were never really your friends,
And they actually abhor you,

You weren't required for anything else,
It was only your vote they needed,
You handed them the keys to power,
And history will be repeated,

You'll have yet another leader,
Who will not deliver what they promised,
Because they lied and told you fantasies,
You really thought that they were honest?

But do not feel bad or hopeless,
None of it is your fault,
You were given very limited option,
For who got the keys to the vault,

It doesn't matter which side wins,
The result will always be the same,
A disappointing leader with an ego,
That leaves you feeling disdain,

Perhaps now, then, is the time,
To bring about a brand new nation,
To raise a force, loyal and strong,
To handle any situation,

A place where merit wins,
Not bribes and wealthy roots,
A place where the citizens are trained and ready,
To march with stomping boots,

A place where all are taught,
Taught to pick up a weapon and fight,
And if the situation ever occurs,
They will defend what's true and right,

The people of 'The Dragon',
The greatest people of them all,
Wise, strong and disciplined,
A people that will never fall!

We shall arise from out of nowhere,
We shall become an endless legion,
We shall establish a foothold everywhere,
And bring justice to every region!

We'll give shelter to those who have nothing,
We'll give them family and food,
Then we'll bring them in to join us,
Where they can offer their servitude,

Then they will help to make us stronger,
They will help to make us grow,
They will join our ranks and become one of us,
What beautiful seeds we will sow!

The world will have no choice,
But to open its ears and listen,
To become one with 'The Dragon',
And to join us on our mission,

We will start from humble origins,
We'll start small, but true,
So come and join me, worthy souls,
I'm here and I'm searching for you...
